Today, here's a chic, graphic and trendy manicure. It is named "border" or "frame" nails. Take a look:
Je trouve cette manucure particulièrement jolie sur ongles ronds ou en amandes, c'est d'ailleurs une des raisons pour lesquelles j'ai abandonné la forme carrée. J'ai choisi comme couleur de base un vernis holographique que j'ai acheté cet été, le Kiko 399. J'aime beaucoup cette couleur que j'appelle volontiers "champagne holographique"!
I find this mani particularly pretty on round or almond-shaped nails, that's actually one of the reasons why I gave up filing them square. For the base color, I chose a holographic polish, Kiko 399. I really like this color which reminds me of champagne, but a holo champagne!
Comme à mon habitude, j'ai opté pour un annulaire différent et ai utilisé un vernis Mavala (Sparkling Bronze) pour la bordure à paillettes, et du noir à l'intérieur (OPI Black Onyx), le tout rehaussé de strass. J'ai d'abord dessiné la bordure au pinceau, puis ai rempli l'intérieur avec le pinceau de mon vernis noir. Enfin, j'ai peaufiné avec un liner noir pour que le contour soit net.
As usual, I created an accent nail on my ring finger by using a Mavala polish (Sparkling Bronze) for the glitter border, and a black polish inside (OPI Black Onyx). I topped the frame with rhinestones. First, I drew the border with a brush, then I filled the inside with the brush that came off with my black polish, and finally, I added a last touch-up with a black liner, so that it was all neat.
Voici une photo prise en extérieur, au soleil, qui révèle toute la beauté de ce magnifique Kiko. Je précise que je ne porte pas de topcoat, car je trouve qu'il altère un peu le pouvoir holographique des vernis. J'ai uniquement appliqué mon topcoat sur mon annulaire, pour retenir les strass et unifier l'ongle.
Here's a picture taken outside, in the sunlight, which shows the true beauty of this Kiko. I actually don't wear any topcoat over it, because I think it alters a little bit the holo effect when you wear some. I just used topcoat over my ring finger to hold the rhinestones together with the polish.
Pour mon annulaire, je me suis inspirée d'une manucure trouvée sur le Tumbler de l'illustre Illustrated Nail, bien sûr ce que j'ai fait n'y ressemble même pas de loin, mais vous pouvez quand même vous faire une idée en allant voir par ici.
For the accent finger, I wanted to do something that looked like one of the Illustrated Nail's mani, but of course it doesn't even look like it, by far! You can still have a look here to see what I'm talking about.
La photo ci-dessus est prise avec flash. Parlons maintenant du coeur de cette manucure: la bordure. Pour la réaliser, rien de plus simple: un liner suffit, à condition de bien savoir le manier. N'ayez pas peur de dépasser sur vos cuticules, vous pourrez toujours nettoyer ensuite avec un pinceau et de l'acétone.
Picture above taken with flash. Let's talk about the core of this mani: the border. Very easy, actually, as a black striper will do the job pretty good. Don't hesitate to overstep on your cuticules, you can still clean up after with acetone and a brush.
